Hello John,
All your questions are answered in the book Cordwood Construction: A Log End View. Available at http://www.daycreek.com go to Looking for Books and Plans on the bottom of the home page. Your wood needs to be dried to 12% moisture content. Depending on how much you split and how you arrange your rows (single rows dry faster, north to south rows dry faster, rows in the sun (away from trees) dry faster, etc. If you need to send me an email you can reach me at Flato@aol.com I have placed quite a bit of cordwood "eye candy" on my Cordwood Construction Facebook page. All the best to you in your building project.

I am in the process of cutting down large red pine and larch for my Cordwood house. I want to build one the same size as yours and almost the same fashion. Would it be possible to buy a set of plans and material list from you? Also, how long did you cure your cordwood before you erected the non bearing walls? I am in rural upstate New York and (though not near Rob Roy) and will be building this myself with a few Amish friends.

I read over the full article on their site. But really, there are two other things you need to consider about soy-based spray foam. One is that it doesn't outgas formaldehyde like fiberglass does. The other is that if you spray it right, and create an airtight seal, it keeps bugs out. So no need for pesticides. So there are a few benefits just beyond what it's made from.
